The new Toyota Prius gets four-wheel drive and will be around 25 percent more efficient than the current model.
Reported that at least the British Auto Express, the story is based on statements by an anonymous Toyota engineer. Previously reported AutoWeek already have a completely new look, and now it appears that the drive goes well on the shovel.
According to the engineer, the electric forces are now on the rear wheels loose, causing the car to a speed of 60 kilometers per hour and four wheel drivers can operate.
Despite this provision, the car 70 kg lighter than it is. The combustion engine is basically still the same 1.8-liter four-cylinder, but it goes to the next shovel with a lower power consumption even more purpose.
consumption
Through all the changes, the consumption of the car by 25 percent decrease to values around 1 to 38, which equates to CO2 emissions of 70 g / km. Apart from the "regular" Prius comes also a plug-in version. Also that what is efficient, but less dramatically than the version without plug socket.
Remarkably, the regular Toyota Prius according to the employee simply continue to use nickel-metal hydrid batteries, while the plug-in is already equipped with the modern lithium-ion option. The old-fashioned batteries, the charging many short sessions in that car better tolerated in the long term.
