The Ford F-150 pick-up has been the best selling motor vehicle in the United States for many years. The new 2012 Ford F-150 pickup mode...
While the Ford F-150 Platinum no more expensive model (that honor goes to the over-the-top Ford Harley Davidson edition) does take the higher price segment of the range. The back seats easily accommodate people who are over six feet tall, with loads of leg-room to spare.
My truck is a real beauty review, metallic platinum is white with gray interior, and is a Lariat 4 × 4 with the Platinum package. This truck has the Sony navigation system is wonderful and easy to operate. This truck has a power sunroof, remote start, synchronization system voice activation, automatic air conditioning climate control and a power tilt and telescopic leather wrapped steering wheel.
The exterior of this truck is impressive, with 20-inch chrome wheels. My test car has the factory hard top tonneau cover that makes a tight seal and improves the appearance of the truck. This truck also has backdoor step is a wonderful option to help you get into the truck bed with ease.
The vans are seen by a significant part of the country as a futile effort favored by chronic spouse abusers and manual workers. But that did not prevent the appointment of Ford F-150 Platinum as "a vehicle to rule them all."
None of our usual experts were available trucks and therefore the task of reviewing the machine fell to me, a virgin truck, which was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable - and expensive - these trucks can go.
Our test truck was loaded to the mammary glands (such as pickup owners like to say, though not as clinically) with a SuperCab configuration, a truck 6.5 ', 4 wheel drive and a 3.73 limited slip rear axle. We also had other options limp-wrist as system in-dash navigation, a bed extender capable of stowage, sunroof, tailgate step, skid plates (for travel up the gravel road at the lake house) and metallic red paint, for a whopping price tag of $ 54,380.
Ironically, our Platinum edition comes with the smaller displacement engine available, a 3.5L V6 Ecoboost. With 365 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, Platinum never lacks for power, and shows minimal lag during acceleration, while making fresh turbo sounds more reminiscent of a diesel truck. We saw about 17 mpg in city traffic, mainly a better mpg rating of 16 mpg Ford. Various media have reported 0-60 mph times as low as 6.5 seconds; it feels positively huge fast for a truck. With 90 percent of torque available at 1,900 rpm Ecoboost, grunt is never lacking, and never once longed for a big V8, the soundtrack is doomed.
Apart from the high driving position, the F-150 Platinum has an interior that would shame the entire Lincoln line (something that Ford should fix as soon as possible). Dressed in an earthy brown leather interior, the Ecoboost us speechless with the quality of leather materials and the board. Other automakers "Premium" should examine the inside of platinum for a lesson on how to do an internal market without pretensions or unnecessary complications.
Of course, failure is still plagued Ford SYNC system makes its appearance, along with the typical unit of Sony. Most impressive is the large amount of legroom in the back seat available - enough to embarrass a long-wheelbase Lincoln Town Car. Ferrari once said that the Jeep was the U.S. version of a sports car, but given the technological stagnation of the road, and how far the truck has arrived with the Ford F-150 Platinum, you can now take the title.
