you're shopping for an entry-level luxury sedan with a sporty disposition, you'll undoubtedly come across the compact Lexus IS 250. Although modestly powered for a premium-brand sport sedan, the Lexus IS 250 offers all the other virtues of the current IS series, including precise handling, a top-quality interior and an extensive array of high-tech features.
On the standard rear-wheel-drive sedan, the company gives you a choice of a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. For the general premium car shopper, though, the Lexus IS 250 represents a solid buy, as it offers high levels of luxury and refinement while staying within comfortable range of the $30,000 mark.
Lexus sells the Lexus IS 250 in a single trim level, with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Major options include adaptive bi-xenon HID headlights, heated/ventilated front seats, a surround-sound Mark Levinson audio system with a CD/DVD changer, a navigation system with a rearview camera, adaptive cruise control and Bluetooth. There's also an X package, which is essentially a sport package that provides bigger wheels, high-performance tires, firmer suspension calibrations, aluminum pedals and a front lip spoiler. Inside, the leather-lined Lexus IS 250 feels luxurious even in standard spec -- something that can't be said of many entry-level luxury sedans in this price range. Used Lexus IS 250 Models
Introduced for the 2006 model year, the present-generation Lexus IS 250 represents the second iteration of the Lexus IS series.
the 2010 Lexus IS 250 ranks 9 out of 16 Upscale Midsize Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 60 published reviews and test drives of the Lexus IS 250, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.
Lexus produces two midsize luxury cars - the comfort-oriented ES, and this, the more performance-oriented "Lexus IS 250". Available as a sedan and a convertible, it's intended to do battle with sport sedans like the BMW 3-Series and Audi A4. A high-performance F-type, reviewed separately, is also available. The Lexus IS 250 is available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, while the IS 350 comes only in a rear-wheel-drive layout.
The car shows perfection in individual disciplines. Convertible shoppers take note, the IS is available as a hardtop convertible, introduced late in the 2009 model year. The IS Convertible, most will find, is not as performance-oriented as the 3-Series convertible or the G37 drop-top.
The car will be delivered with the driver's side floormat attached to the track of the driver's seat with zip ties. Lexus will contact buyers with a recall notice when a permanent fix is available
